LATOYA JACKSON
It is reported that Latoya Jackson is to be one of the 'celebs' entering the BB house on the 2nd of January following the example of her brother Jermaine Jackson 2 years ago. Surely a loving brother would have warned her off such a place given the carry on that went on when he was a housemate? But maybe that moment of regained fame for a flash moment overrides any concerns she may have had.
The photos of the house have been released and the bath has steps up to it which makes me think that maybe it is indeed true that Verne Troyer IS going into the house.
If you want to see pics of the house copy and paste the link below:

RUMOURS, RUMOURS, RUMOURS
So as we get into the few days before CBB6 starts, the rumour mill warms up. Now we are to believe Ulrika Jonsson will be one of the hms, and if the News of the World is to be believed, she will be the hm to receive the highest ever fee for appearing in the show: £175,000! Not bad for 3 weeks 'work'.
From the News of the World website:
"TELLY beauty Ulrika Jonsson is getting a staggering £175,000 for her stint on Celebrity Big Brother—causing a storm among the other housemates who are on MUCH less.
Ulrika’s gigantic paypacket, for up to three weeks’ work, is EIGHT-AND-HALF TIMES as much as former A1 singer Ben Adams, who will get a comparatively measly £20,000.
And it’s nearly SIX TIMES more than Shameless actress Tina Malone and rapper Coolio, who get £30,000 each for the series starting Friday.
Ulrika’s fee is believed to be the highest EVER for the Channel 4 show—and is £25,000 higher than this year’s next best-paid star, glamour girl Lucy Pinder.
But TV bosses hope Ulrika, 41, will pull in huge audiences by spilling the beans on her exes—who include former England manager Sven Goran-Eriksson, disgraced footballer Stan Collymore and shamed TV presenter John Leslie.
A CBB insider said: “Many of the other celebrities are fuming.
“When you are doing exactly the same job as someone else and they are getting paid much more, it can cause resentment. But Channel 4 thinks Ulrika is the top-billing celeb because of her past. “The revelations she may come out with will get everybody watching—we hope it’s going to be TV dynamite!”
The other housemates are ex- Sugababe Mutya Buena and former Word host Terry Christian, who get between £50,0000 and £75,000 each, Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton (£60,000), La Toya Jackson (£100,000) and Mini-Me actor Verne Troyer (£136,000).
Controversial Scottish politician Tommy Sheridan is in the house too but his fee is unknown.
Ulrika—who had her fourth child in June after marrying American adman Brian Monet—is the second of Sven’s past lovers to go on CBB."
ULRIKA JONNSON (41)
From Wikipedia:
"Eva Ulrika Jonsson (born 16 August 1967) is a Swedish-born British television presenter.
Early life
The granddaughter of famous Swedish opera singer Folke Jonsson, Jonsson was born in Sollentuna, Sweden. Her parents divorced in 1975 when she was eight years old. After the divorce, her mother went to live in Holland and she lived with her father for the remainder of her childhood. Jonsson moved to Buckinghamshire, England in 1979 at the age of 12 where she attended Farnham Common Middle School for a year above the normal age to prepare her for secondary school, then Burnham Grammar School, followed by St Aldate's Secretarial college in Oxford. She speaks fluent Swedish, English, French and German.
Career
After working as a secretary, Jonsson began her TV career on TV-am in 1989 where she worked as a weather forecaster. From 12 September 1989, she was also the weather forecaster for Swedish TV3, broadcasting from London. In 1992 she moved into mainstream presenting and played host to numerous shows including Gladiators, the Big Breakfast, The National Lottery - plus two major international broadcasts in 1998, the Eurovision Song Contest and Miss World. She also modelled for Playtex Lingerie during this period. She was a team captain on the BBC TV quiz show Shooting Stars.
In 1990 she married TV cameraman Johnny Turnbull, but a few years later had an affair with Gladiators cameraman Phil Piotrowsky. She got back together with Turnbull, and they had a son, Cameron; however they divorced in 1995. She later had a relationship with James Crossley, better known as Gladiator Hunter.
She spent many days on tabloid front pages in 1998, after it was revealed she was the victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her then boyfriend, footballer Stan Collymore. Jonsson later took out an injunction preventing Collymore from releasing a sex tape involving the two, apparently made while they were on holiday in Cyprus - the video was later destroyed by Collymore.
She presented Dog Eat Dog (reality game show) from 2001 - 2003, on BBC1. In 2002 Jonsson had a short-lived relationship with England national football team manager Sven-Göran Eriksson. The event caused a tabloid frenzy as Eriksson had a long-term girlfriend - Nancy Dell'Olio - at the time. He later spurned Jonsson for a reunion with Dell'Olio for the 2002 World Cup. There was some suspicion that the alleged relationship with Sven, and the subsequent publicity, may have been an attempt to revive her flagging career and boost sales of her soon to be released Autobiography.
In 2002, Jonsson presented TV makeover show Home On Their Own, a show where children made amends to their house (how they wanted the house to be) during the course of a weekend, while their parents went on holiday. Some of the home improvements included an Austin Powers room, doorbells for the children and a cinema living room.
After the media attention, she decided to return to Sweden. The Swedish television network TV3 offered her the role as hostess of the Miss Sweden beauty pageant. She declined the invitation.
In March 2003, Jonsson was a contestant on the BBC's Comic Relief does Fame Academy.
In 2005, she appeared with four other celebrities on Channel 4's daytime show Come Dine With Me
On 20 January 2007 she joined 10 other celebrities to take part in the ITV reality TV show Dancing On Ice, where she was partnered with Pavel Aubrecht. With previous experience at skating in her native Sweden, Jonsson and was expected to go far in the event but finished 9th after being beaten in the skate-off by Kay Burley.
Her latest project was the confessional TV show, Ulrika: Am I A Sex Addict?, broadcast on Channel 4 on 20 March 2007. The show charted Jonsson's personal journey to uncover the truth about sex addiction. She has recently appeared on BBC1's Would I Lie To You? (2007).
There have recently been media reports that suggest she is a front-runner to replace Fiona Phillips, a GMTV presenter who is leaving the show.
In December 2008 Jonsson admitted she had turned down a part in Doctor Who because she felt she didn't have the acting experience."
Autobiography and John Leslie scandal
Jonsson wrote in her autobiography that an unnamed television presenter had sexually assaulted her earlier in her television career. Matthew Wright named (apparently accidentally) John Leslie as the alleged perpetrator on his television show The Wright Stuff, which was apparently an open secret in the UK entertainment industry. Jonsson made no public comment on Leslie's naming and did not co-operate with police over the matter. Police investigated Leslie but never charged him regarding the case.
Mr Right
In 2002, Jonsson presented the reality television show, Mr Right, where an eligible bachelor (Lance Gerrard-Wright) is faced with choosing a girlfriend from a group of women. However, the eventual winner turned Gerrard-Wright down. Jonsson married Lance Gerrard-Wright on 16 August 2003 and split from him in October 2005.[4] She confirmed they were going through a divorce during the live taping of the 26 May 2006edition of 8 Out of 10 Cats.
Celebrity Big Brother
Jonsson is due to appear on Celebrity Big Brother 6, which begins on 2 January 2009. Her fee for the show is £175,000, which is higher than any other celebrity housemate's fee.
Children
Jonsson has four children: a son, Cameron, born 1994, by John Turnbull; a daughter, Bo (after the child's grandfather, Bo Jonsson), born 2000, by Markus Kempen; and another daughter, Martha, born 2004, by Lance Gerrard-Wright. In October 2007, Jonsson confirmed that she is expecting her fourth child with her current husband Brian Monet, a US advertising executive. In a Hello! magazine interview (on 12 March 2008) she announced that her fourth child is to be a boy. [5]. Ulrika gave birth to fourth child, Malcolm Charles Trip Monet on June 7th 2008 and he weighed 10lbs.

FEMALE CBB HMS
Some of the tabloids are reporting the following as the female hms for 2009 CBB.
MUTYA BUENA (23)
Formerly with the girl band Sugababes. She is now pursuing a career as a solo singer.
From Wikipedia:
Rosa Isabel Mutya Buena (born 21 May 1985 in Kingsbury, London), known professionally as Mutya Buena, is a BRIT Award-nominated British singer and songwriter, who rose to fame as a member of the pop group Sugababes.
Her family currently lives in Kingsbury, London. She attended Kingsbury High School. Mutya is of Filipino, Chinese, Irish and Spanish decent. Her name "Mutya" means "muse" or "pearl" in Tagalog, the official language in the Philippines. She has five brothers (Bayani, Charlie, Chris, Danny and Roberto) and two younger sisters, Ligaya and Dalisay; another sister, Maya, died in 2002, and the song "Maya" on the album Three is dedicated to her. On 23 March 2005, Mutya gave birth to 5lb 10oz Tahlia-Maya Buena, her first child with boyfriend Jay. She named her child Tahlia-Maya in memory of her sister, Maya.
The original line-up of the group consisted of friends Keisha Buchanan, Siobhan Donaghy and Buena, who met at a party in 1998. Since scoring a record deal, the band has gone on to become one of the most successful UK-based female groups in British history - second only to the Spice Girls in terms of record sales. They have had four platinum selling albums, six number one singles, a BRIT-Award as well as a platinum-selling greatest hits album. However, in late 2005, Buena announced that she was leaving the group because of "personal reasons". Her replacement, Amelle Berrabah, joined the group in December 2005, the Sugababes' second member change since Siobhan Donaghy left in 2001, being replaced by Heidi Range.
Since her departure from the Sugababes, Buena has worked with a range of record producers and artists, including BRIT and Grammy Award winning and platinum-selling jazz artist Amy Winehouse, George Michael and dance music writers Groove Armada. The first single to be released in the UK featuring Buena was that of a sultry ballad duet with George Michael, entitled This Is Not Real Love. Released in November 2006, it was UK Top 20 hit after reaching no. 15. It also appeared on Michael's greatest hits album Twenty Five. Following this, Buena toured with Michael on the London and Manchester leg of his 2006 25 Live tour. The duet between Michael and Buena is also included on Buena's debut album Real Girl.
Buena began working on her debut album in early 2006, after signing with her previous label Universal Island Records. Preceding the album, the title track "Real Girl" was released in early 2007. It was a big hit in the UK, making it to no. 2 in the charts, as well as having a BRIT Award nomination for "Best Single". The song samples Lenny Kravitz's hit "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over", and was produced by London-based production company Full Phat. Following this, Buena's debut album Real Girl was released, and made no. 10 in the UK amid mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. The album only held a place in the UK Top 40 Albums for three weeks, quickly dropping off the chart.
Buena performed at V Festival on 18 August and 19 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Western Park, Staffordshire. She also appeared at T4 On The Beach 2007 on Sunday 22 July. Buena also covered Tracy Chapman's classic "Fast Car" in 2007 for BBC Radio 1 as part of the "Radio 1 Established 1967" 40-year anniversary.
The third song to be released from the album was "Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control)" , her collaboration with dance duo Groove Armada. The song received rave reviews from Popjustice reached position 8 in the UK charts. The fourth release from the album was Just a Little Bit which reached 65. Buena then collaborated with Amy Winehouse, on a re-working of the track Be My Baby by The Ronettes, entitled B Boy Baby which only reached number 73 in the UK top 75. Mutya's debut solo album Real Girl, was certified as Gold, after selling more than 100,000 copies.
On 1 October 2007, Buena was nominated for the 2007 British "Music of Black Origin" (MOBO) awards. The MOBO Awards was held at the 02 Arena in London.
On 14 December 2007, she stood in at the last minute for the ill Jill Scott on the BBC Two program Later with Jools Holland, fronting Scott's band singing Real Girl and Just A Little Bit which the band had learned in one hour.
On 12 February 2008, Mutya was dropped by her record label due to poor sales and charting positions from Real Girl and her last two singles, Just a Little Bit and B Boy Baby[citation needed].
Mutya is currently working on her second studio album with record producer Dave Michigan ready for release in late 2009.
On July 15th, Mutya and fellow artist Jody Lei set up talent agency Real Girl Productions to "try to give other talents a chance." The pair are currently looking for singers, producers, writers, DJs, dancers, models, and musicians to be signed to Real Girl Productions. In the Myspace blog that Mutya posted to promote the agency, she explains their aim is to "try to do something positive with the youth today."
On October 31st, Mutya appeared on Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong, On behalf of the Sugababes. In January 2009, Mutya will be featured on Asher D's second single "With You" off of his forthcoming album. She is also rumoured to be a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother[2009].
PAULA HAMILTON (47)
Former model, judge on Britains Next Top Model. Paula was the actress in the Volkswagen ads of the '80s but disappeared from our screens for a number of years to sort her alcohol and drug addiction.
From Wikipedia:
Hamilton was brought up in South Africa by her mother and stepfather. At age 11, her grandmother told her that her real father was actually a family friend in County Durham. She met him once, but her mother later insisted he was not her father. It wasn't until Hamilton was 27, that her mother admitted she had lied. By then, however, the man had been dead for 13 years, having been murdered with a pickaxe handle.
She is dyslexic and left school at 15. Paula’s success didn’t come without a fight. At the age of 17, after several rejections as a model, she moved to Tokyo and worked non stop for 18 months. She then established herself in Australia and Germany before moving to Italy.[2] After being discovered by photographer David Bailey, she became the main model of the Queen's couturier Sir Hardy Amies. Her successful modelling career was, however, hampered by her battles against alcohol, cocaine and depression. During a tough interview with top Italian photographer Fabrizio Ferrei, Paula was told her hair was too long for the job. She promptly cut her hair, got the job, and went on to learn the tricks of the trade at Ferrei’s side. It was at this point she realised a successful modelling career has more to do with ‘your energy and spirit within’ than any outside appearance.[3]
Hamilton reached the zenith of her modelling career at the age of 27, when she became a household name as the star of one of the most iconic television adverts of the 1980s, for the Volkswagen Golf - the popularity in the UK of the Mk II drew from the 1987 advert. "Changes" starred Hamilton, made up to resemble Diana, Princess of Wales. She is seen leaving her husband, posting her wedding ring back through the letterbox and ditching her mink coat, chucking the house keys at the cat, rejecting the fur coat and pearl necklace - but keeping the car keys. "If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen" ran the tagline. The advert began a new era in car advertising (Armstrong 1998 p15)[4]
In 1996 Hamilton featured in the music video accompanying hugely successful British boyband Take That's last single "How Deep Is Your Love" in the 90s. The single reached number one on the UK singles chart.
In 2006, it was announced that Hamilton, at the age of 45, has been re-signed by the leading agency Models 1, who hope to capitalise on the popularity of more mature models led by Twiggy and her successful advertising campaign for Marks & Spencer[5]. She was also a mentor and judge on the second and third series of Britain's Next Top Model on Living TV, presented by supermodel Lisa Snowdon. It was revealed in late December 2007 that Paula was to be replaced by Icelandic Supermodel Huggy Ragnarsson, for cycle 4. Fellow colleague and judge, Jonathan Phang, was also replaced by stylist, photographer and designer, Gerry Deveaux. [6] In addition to modelling, Paula turned her hand to presenting and acting, appearing in feature films ‘Mad Dogs & Englishmen’ and the ‘Life of a Serial Killer’. Having overcome a number of obstacles in her personal life, Paula released her autobiography, entitled ‘Instructions Not Included’, in 1996.
Hamilton is no longer with Models 1. She is now signed to Mandpmodels, also in London. Hamilton is one of the 12 celebrities rumoured to be taking part in the sixth series of controversial reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother.
MICHELLE HEATON (28)
Former manufactured band Liberty X member. Now a perma-tanned reality tv regular.
From Wikipedia:
Michelle Christine Heaton, (born 19 July 1980, Gateshead, England) is a British pop singer, television personality and sometime glamour model. She was married to former boyband member Andy Scott-Lee, and was consequently the sister-in-law to former Steps singer Lisa Scott-Lee and the sister-in-law by marriage to former Hear'Say singer Johnny Shentall. She and Andy announced the end of their marriage on 5 June 2008 citing adultery on her part.[citation needed]
SHERRIE HEWSON (58)
The slightly, ok totally, ditzy panelist from ITVs Loose Women. She has appeared in various soaps including Crossroads, Coronation Street, Emerdale.
From ITV.com
Eccentric actress Sherrie Hewson can always be relied upon to offer a unique off view.
The off-the-wall panellist has been a hit with the Loose Women audience since 2003, thanks to her quirky outlook and self-deprecating sense-of-humour. Her cries to the studio audience, “Come on let’s hear you” and “Isn’t that right ladies?” have become her trademarks.
Sherrie’s best-known for her roles in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Crossroads but has been in the limelight since she was six thanks to her showbiz family - her father was a singer. As a child she toured the UK singing and at 15 won the prestigious Olivier Award for Best Newcomer. She later studied at RADA.
In the 70s Sherrie changed her surname from Hutchinson as she was advised it was too long, and embarked on a varied television career with parts including Z Cars, Home to Roost, Love for Lydia, Carry on Laughing and Russ Abbot’s Madhouse.
Her role as accident-prone Maureen in Corrie launched her career in soaps in 1993. Audiences loved her portrayal of the ditzy shop assistant and her comedy partnership with on-screen husband Reg Holdsworth has been one of the soap's most popular double acts. Sherrie waved goodbye to Weatherfield in 1997.
In 2001, she made her second appearance on an ITV1 soap as uppity receptionist Virginia Raven in the Crossroads’ revival. The soap ended in 2003 and Sherrie became a regular panellist on Loose Women. To complete the ITV1 soap hat-trick, Sherrie joined Emmerdale in 2004 as Lesley Meredith. Sherrie remained with the soap for two years.
But there’s more to Sherrie than acting. In March 2008, she revealed a hidden crime-writing talent after winning BBC show Murder Most Famous. Her novel will be published in 2009 as part of Pan Macmillan's ‘quick reads’ in celebration of World Book Day.
In 2004 Sherrie and her husband of 25 years Ken Boyd separated. Sherrie has a daughter Keeley and baby grandson Oliver.
TINA MALONE (45)
Actress. Currently in tv sitcom Shameless. She was a spokeswoman for larger women but then earlier this year reportedly had a gastric band fitted and lost 5 stone.
From Wikipedia:
Tina Malone (born 30 January 1963 in Merseyside) is a Liverpudlian actress most famous for playing the brash, belligerent, foul-mouthed Mimi Maguire on Shameless. She also played the role of Mo McGee on Brookside and a nurse called Bobby on Victoria Wood's Dinnerladies.
Malone plays Mimi Maguire the matriarch of the infamous Maguire family. She is often found headbutting other characters and raging into foul mouthed rants to anyone who dares cross her path.
Malone runs her own acting school in Liverpool[1]. The school produces plays in local Liverpool theatres such as the Everyman Theatre. The drama school is known as To Be Frank Productions (named after her late father, Frank Malone).
LUCY PINDER (24)
Big breasted page 3 girl.
From Wikipedia:
Lucy Katherine Pinder (born 20 December 1983) in Winchester, Hampshire, England) is a glamour model noted for her large, natural breasts, which have been voted as being "the most beautiful all-natural pair in Britain."
In the summer of 2003, Pinder was spotted by a freelance photographer while sunbathing on Bournemouth beach. As a result of the photographs taken that day, she signed a professional modelling contract with The Daily Star.
From the beginning of her career, Pinder was regularly partnered with Michelle Marsh, with whom she has appeared in magazines, television and corporate appearances. Additionally she has been photographed with a variety of naturally voluptuous glamour models, including Sophie Howard, Jana Defi, Lindsey Strutt and Saskia Howard-Clarke. Since then, she has appeared on the covers of magazines, such as Loaded, Maxim, Nuts, ZOO, Ice, Redline and Fast Car. Pinder has also appeared in prominent adverts for PlayStation 2, Yellow Pages and the National Lottery.
Initially in her career, unlike most glamour models, Pinder became known for not showing her nipples; she eventually revealed her bare breasts in a feature in Nuts magazine in April 2007.
Pinder currently runs a weekly advice column in Nuts magazine, entitled "The Truth About Women,"[6] and also has embarked on a television career (see below). She is represented by Neon Models.[7]
TV career
Pinder's first-ever TV appearance was in 2004 with Michelle Marsh on Sky TV's series Dream Team. Wearing white bikinis, they brought in a birthday cake into a party for one of the Harchester United.[8]
In 2004, Pinder appeared on Living TV's series I'm Famous and Frightened, spending the weekend at Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire investigating ghosts and spirits.[9]
On December 31, 2005, Pinder appeared on Sky Sports Television channel as a celebrity soccerette on Soccer AM. She also sat on the famous orange sofa answering questions on everything from modelling to football
In September 2007, Pinder appeared as a contestant on a special edition of the Weakest Link, entitled "Wags and Glamour Girls," where she was voted off before reaching the final.[11][12]
Pinder was a television presenter for Nuts TV from September to December 2007, presenting a short nightly slot called "Book at Bedtime," which is based on a long-running BBC Radio 4 program. She read a passage from a well-known novel.[13] In 2008, she presented the entire four-hour output of the channel from January 15 to January 17. Subsequently, she has appeared on MTV channel TMF, presenting in conjunction with Kayleigh Pearson, Pinder and Pearson's Late-Night Love-in; a "countdown of saucy music videos." She presented the Nuts TV live show on six further occasions in February and March 2008, and also presented "Overexposed" - a series on Nuts TV giving hints and tips to an aspiring amateur glamor photographer.
Pinder's performances in Book at Bedtime won her a unique publishing contract, described as "a whole new concept in publishing." She is expected to write her own novel, which will be accompanied by a video of her reading it in Book at Bedtime style.
In February 2008, Pinder made a cameo appearance, along with Michelle Marsh, in the first episode of season three of Hotel Babylon on BBC1.
In addition, Pinder has appeared in several cover DVDs and photo shoots for magazines, such as Loaded and Maxim.

RIFF RAFF IN THE HOUSE!
RICHARD O'BRIEN
Richard O'Brien is now rumoured to have signed up to CBB. I would love if this proves to be true as I think he would spook the life out of a lot of the more tender minded 'celebs' going in. He is brilliant and quick witted and would certainly make the show more interesting for many of us.
Richard O'Brien is the guy from the tv programme, the Crystal Maze. But to we fans of the Rocky Horror Picture Show (which he wrote), he will always be Riff Raff.
From Wikipedia:
"Richard Timothy Smith (born March 25, 1942), better known under his stage name Richard O'Brien, is an English-born, New Zealand-raised writer, actor, television presenter and theatre performer. He is perhaps best known for writing the cult musical The Rocky Horror Show and for his role in presenting the popular TV show The Crystal Maze. In addition to writing The Rocky Horror Show O'Brien also starred in its 1975 film adaptation The Rocky Horror Picture Show as the character Riff Raff. The stage show has been in almost continuous production since, and the cinematic version is one of the best known and most ardently followed cult films of all time."

NEWS UPDATE
16th December 2008
From the ch4 website:
New Face for BBLB
Michael Barrymore will be joining the BBLB team as their roving reporter/uber-guest! As one who knows what it's like to live in the Big Brother House, Michael will be able to offer his thoughts on how his fellow celebs are fairing as well as becoming BBLB's very own celeb task tester and on the street reporter.
TV Show Rundown
As well as the main evening show Little Brother, Big Mouth, Diary Room Uncut will be returning as well as late night streaming from the house on E4.
George Returns...
CONFIRMED - George Lamb will return from his summer stint to front Celebrity Big Brother's Little Brother, the ultimate Big Brother fanzine show. Delivering all the latest news, views and access to all areas of the House.
Jack Is Back!
CONFIRMED - Big Brother's Big Mouth will return with comedian Jack Whitehall presiding over the debate in front of a live and up-for-it studio audience.
I'm not sure how popular Barrymore will be with the viewers ~ since the swimming pool death at his home he has gone way down in public popularity and seems to be constantly trying to get back to the 'star' he was before. I suppose that is only to be expected. The money and the fame is probably like oxygene to these 'stars' hence the 'celebrity' housemates desire to get into the house for CBB.
But I see there is no mention of Zezi Ifore, the girl who managed to be the worst presenter ever on BB. I'm sure she is a perfectly nice girl, but she just couldn't hack the live shows and was torn apart, sometimes unfairly it has to be said, by forum members and bloggers around the net. However, inexperienced and all as Zezi was I'd still prefer her to Barrymore.

The CBB Eye Revealed
The new 'eye' design has been released. Same as the BB9 eye but with a star in the middle (and some difference in the lashes too apparently).
After a break from viewers' screens, the daddy of reality shows returns for what could be the most unpredictable and unforgettable few weeks of the celebrities' lives.
Presenter Davina McCall presides over the live launch night and evictions, but, as ever, the true power lies with viewers when it comes to deciding who stays and who goes. Further details will be announced nearer to transmission, with celebrity housemates announced on the day they enter the house."
The series will start sometime in January, probably the early part.
From the Ch4. website:

WHICH 'CELEBRITIES' WILL ENTER CBB9?
So, after missing a year following the antics of certain hms in CBB5, Celebrity Big Brother 6 is to hit our screens in January 2009. I wonder which 'celebrities' are desperate enough to scratch their way back onto our screens?
Rumour has it that the first to be signed up is Whitney Houston. Could this be true? I also heard a rumour that top jockey, Frankie Detorri is to sign up. And another that 1970s teen heart-throb, Donny Osmond, might enter the CBB house.
For the meantime, all we can do is speculate and wonder but it might be fun seeing who is rumoured to going on to the show.
UPDATE ~ 16 November 2008
The rumours so far suggestion who might enter the house are:
Whitney Houston, Paris Hilton, and Mutya (ex-Sugababes).
Other rumours mention Britney Speers but I think Britney entering the BB house is extremely unlikely.
I think the rumour about Donny Osmond may prove incorrect if he does indeed enter the jungle on I'm A Celebrity ~ as a late entrant. Can't really see him doing 2 reality shows back to back. *Sobbing across the nations from ladies of a certain age.*
UPDATE ~ 14 DECEMBER 2008
With approximately only NINETEEN DAYS to go until the start of CBB6, the rumour mill is in full swing. Those now rumoured to be entering the house include Verne Troyer (Mini-Me from the Austin Powers films), Tim Henman (tennis player), Patrick Moore (astronomer), Georgina Baillie (the subject of those phone calls to her grandfather, Andrew Sachs by Russell Brand and Johnathon Ross, MP Lembit Opik (ex- fiance of one of the Cheeky Girls), Ian Wright (ex-footballer), Blake Fielder-Civil (ex-husband of Amy Winehouse), and tv presenter Jeremy Kyle, Carmen Electra (ex-Baywatch), the perma tanned/tangoed tv presenter, David Dickinson. And Donny Osmond did not go into the jungle so perhaps his name can again be added to the list.
I even read somewhere that Cliff Richard was to go in but refused after BB would/could not supply him with his own private loo!
I would imagine the rumour mill will go into over drive during the next few days so expect to read some bizare rumours. One out already suggests that Professor Von Hagens, he who did a live tv autopsy some years ago, will be going in. Perhaps he will do an autopsy on a hm we thought was dead and appears in the show?
There will only be a budget for one 'big name' I would imagine and that would mean it is a pick between Verne Troyer, Carmen Electra, Donny Osmond and Whitney Houston. So we can take it that only one, if any, of those will appear.
The rest will be made up of faded tv and sports stars looking to get back into the public eye. I'll keep you posted.
